March 2014: Two gym meet champions

Unless you are a Notre Dame Prep employee, parent or alum, you likely have no idea what 'gym meet' is, or what it means to the young women of the four high school classes each year. Briefly, it's a set of four activities -- march, dance and aerobics among them -- where each class competes for the coveted cup as well as winning the four contributing categories.

It's always the first week in March, and five years ago we were fully engaged with both daughters in the competition. It does seem like ages ago. And the five-year anniversary finds both graduates of Notre Dame on the west coast, in Los Angeles and Tacoma, respectively, landing spots I would not have predicted or even imagined five years ago.

Here's to great memories, to the present and to the unlimited future for all four of us!
