From my third week of management notes, let's look at the data...

There are a lot of ways to lead or to manage the world's resources. Yet before even the most energetic, charismatic leader or the most talented, strategic manager acts, to be effective, this excellent leadership and management skills need to be based on sound values and principles, values that produce a vision with goals.
The underlying theme to this approach and analysis is that the 'best' firms have multiple, somewhat independent and perhaps at times conflicting, annual and intermediate goals that are built on a foundation of more timeless values. The Drucker Institute approach described towards the end of this 'chapter' provides some key insight as to those values.
