Tony Heller catalogs many of these climate forecast shortcomings and -- let's face it -- utterly incorrect predictions without consequences. Horrific predictions of the Maldives completely disappearing, of beaches slipping into the sea in Florida, of New York being submerged, and seemingly endless similar stories of bad "science," government mandates, progressive pundits pontificating pompously, and all the time the mainstream media more than willing to promote claims, often by uneducated celebrities, of impending doom.
Years ago, one conservative critic catalogued Tom Friedman's propensity for making one six-month prediction or forecast, one after another, always taking car to place the forecast far enough into the future to ensure that the press and the public will forget about them six months later, yet a short enough time period to create an aura of insight about a soon-to-happen disaster.
Today, the globe-trotting celebrities use ten years as the common measure of the time left until disaster. And just as these celebrities and prognosticating politicians issue predictions and mandates, they just as quickly ignore their own forecasts and mandates, by either spewing carbon 'waste' on private jets and luxurious yachts or in taking photo after self-indulgent photo of maskless grins of the pol surrounded by masked minions or children.
And then we seem to always have NPR, perfect storm of politics, progressives and partying celebrities repeating a time worn, failed narrative of faux 'facts' while never accepting their own repeated mistakes. Then there is always Prince Charles.
