I admit it. Retirement has been a combination of boredom and tiny, sometimes irritating details. On the latter point, the scores of tasks that come with a move and a new part of the country are too numerous to recall all of them, but everything, including but not limited to finding a new go-to grocer, registering and licensing two cars, learning best routes around town, identifying and booking a doctor, dentist, and insurance agent, testing out new restaurants, learning from our mistaken choices, furnishing and outfitting every room in the house, re-learning to drive in snow, waiting for the cable guy and multiple deliveries, straightening out our mail, meeting new neighbors, deciding on a church, hosting a housewarming, setting up local bank accounts, ... well, you get the picture.

Winter has effectively set in and halted my walking outside -- at least for the past four days -- and reduced general activity while instilling a sense of lethargy. Finding my niche, my new purpose or direction, continues to be an issue, if not my primary concern.
