November 2019: Thanksgiving Saturday night in Harrison

Three years ago we were in Chile. Two years ago we were in Santa Monica. Today we are in Harrison, preparing for a Thanksgiving of remembrances. The weather turned colder by the end of last month, with a few days of light snow. Nothing serious. No real driving problems -- in Milwaukee, yes, but not here -- and the streets ave been dry and clear, much like the Wisconsin skies, most of the month.

I have pushed my walking metric. Where I once would have been satisfied with two miles, this month three miles has become the standard, and four miles is no longer a once-a-month exception. Throw in a few score reps with weights in the basement and I'm exercising just fine.

I have even tried to run/speed walk a few times, for maybe two hundred yards. Today I walked the first mile in well under fourteen minutes and walked a total of four miles. I feel almost desperate to take advantage of the remnants of fall before the real cold, show, ice and wind set in.

Already thinking of winter breaks. Los Angeles in mid-January. Perhaps extend that stay or take another warm trip by late February. Ive seen some very nice fares for a return trip to Edinburgh in mid-April. Lots of decisions to me made over Thanksgiving with the family, including financial plans, Christmas, creating a foundation, and more.
