January 2020: Rural growth

Just as I had grown accustomed to and appreciative of the rural spread outside our back window, "there goes the neighborhood." Call it progress and accept the fact that our home was once a soybean field not more than three years ago. In any case, we have construction and a sea of mud spreading behind us.

The remaining snow casts a grey glow throughout the night, even on cloudy nights. It can present an almost eerie site.
