Not news: Record droughts followed by record rain

Progressives have the shortest memories and the least understanding of science.

Tony Heller does another takedown of delirium in California over the fact that the state has long experienced cycles of flooding followed by periods of drought. Steinbeck was just stating what everybody knew. Heller will show you the evidence.

I've lived in several places where people would quip, "If you don't like the weather (here), come back in a few hours/days/weeks and it will be different." This is a widespread phenomenon, not just the quip, but also the realization that weather changes. More important, we realize that weather changes in cycles, has done so for years, and will change 'direction,' i.e., warm, then cool, then warm again, probably until the end of time. Only a fool with a big computer would extrapolate from a short period, cherry-picking start points for extrapolations, and claim that the trend is linear and never-ending, other than in the end of the world. Then again, just wait a few years, and the new model will show the exact opposite extrapolation.

General, then university and then American president Eisenhower, having led one of the the world's largest and most successful military campaign to liberate Europe, knew this well.
