Mother Nature can be a b*tch

Climate alarmists try to portray "Mother Nature" as a benevolent force, providing us with all the things we need to live a good and prosperous life. In truth, Mother Nature is just as likely to kill us as she is to nurture us.

Human progress has been marked by overcoming environmental threats, not by creating them. Be it diseases, viruses and infections, wild animals, floods, blizzards, draughts, hurricanes, tornadoes, tsunamis, forest fires, earthquakes, landslides, volcanic eruptions, poisonous plants, non-potable and putrid water, lighting strikes, destructive insects or other similar, 'natural' environmental threats and killing forces, man-conceived, unnatural forces such as energy from fossil fuels, concrete, steel, plastics, air conditioning, toilets, water heaters, tractors, and hundreds of other labor- and life-saving devices and technology have enabled life for almost eight billion people living on this planet today, with the vast majority out of the extreme poverty that a more 'natural' world provided for thousands of years.

For previous thoughts on this subject -- sustainability -- see here and here (includes eleven chapters from my draft manuscript of my unpublished opus, Managing sustainable development.
