I know that I am too old for this. When Paige and Ed left Eden for Texas, Paige claimed that she had had her fill of snow and that rather than having developed a tolerance for snow, she claimed that she had seen enough snow for her lifetime, she had reached her limit.

In Harrison, I am not sure as to what makes me more frustrated, anxious or wary, between snow and cold. I grow very anxious at the thought of shoveling and plowing snow, especially overnight snow. The thought makes sleep -- already difficult for me -- problematic. Frigid weather accentuates my winter cabin fever. I have no desire to walk outside the the temperature falls below ten degrees. In fact, I have no desire to step outside at all. The past three weeks have been miserably cold, with a few exceptions as can be seen clearly on my Strava account, and those frigid days were preceded by snow, another deterrent to walking.

I have taken to perusing homes in new places, including Big Timber and Billings (Montana), Greenville (South Carolina), Eagle (Idaho) and more. I am back to thinking about what might or should be our next move, when that might be, and what it might look like. We spent half of the proceeds from the sale of Oak Farm Court and spent the rest to pay cash for Touchdown Drive. By now, Oak Farm Court is worth perhaps $850k and our Touchdown home, costing about $350k is worth as much as $475k> If we move, in my mind I have $700k to $800k budgeted for our next place, with multiple options as to how we would pay for the difference between the sale of this house and the purchase of a new one.

Inflation has gone crazy. While the 'official' rate is 7%, homes, cars, groceries and more seem to have jumped much faster than that. Average wages were up 6% last year, to over $31 an hour, but inflation has take all of that, and more. The federal government spent twice as much as they took in and the accumulated deficit has just passed $30 trillion.

CNN is in the midst of a comeuppance on all their sanctimonious bulls*t on sexual harassment, social justice and claims of moral superiority, truth, and arrogance. Zucker out. Cuomo out earlier. More may be going....

One can only hope for a Tory-like trump in November, with good majorities in the House and the Senate, a better chance to stop much of the foolishness from the White House, and a chance to perhaps appoint even more conservative judges. And some states could turn red, or go darker red. Good candidates could flip some state governorships. If we can hold out that long...
