Why "before"? What does "since before" even mean? Journalists like to claim that 'democracy dies in darkness.' More accurate to say that democracy is dying in the newsroom, and journalists a re killing it. Investigative reporting is an American ideal. Disingenuously mis-reporting is a moral, ethical and factual violation of the public trust.
