When I was young, I was committed to my education, my career and my long-term viability, both in terms of financial and physical health. I was frugal. I saved every penny I could. In some years I ran forty miles a week. I ran a marathon.


Today, I have the time and resources that I did not have forty years ago. I have a future, but my career is behind me. No great loss. I look forward to the next thirty years, to the joys of the everyday, simple life, to the success and happiness of my wife and our children.
