First, use the wrong test. Like the PCR. To mis-apply a generic test to a specific illness, to examine a breakout of pertussive illness at a medical center.



Rationalize by claiming that a bad test is better than no test (or a better test).


And then repeating the problem the next time you're looking for a solution.

Second, not recognizing a trend and, instead, claiming a specious cause-and-effect.
