Funny how easily you can claim "first time in history" or "worst in history" if you start marking time in 1979.

Per Tony Heller: "In 1977 California was having a “drought disaster” which was blamed on global cooling and expanding Arctic ice. But the laws of science have apparently changed, and California droughts are now said to be caused by global warming and melting Arctic ice."

Richard Barnhart: "In 1977 the government of California decided they would stop building dams for reservoirs as that was not popular with a small handful of radical environmentalists. California's government wasn't going to limit urban growth. They opened the border with Mexico and allowed unlimited illegal immigration into the state, but the ruling class did decide they were going to prohibit building the necessary infrastructure to support an exploding population. What the government did do was blame this poor civil planning on a change in the weather."

Big M: "A paleoclimatologist published similar data for Western Australia recently. Centuries old trees show evidence of multi decades droughts over the last six hundred years and that drought is the norm for Australia. The same news outlet that published this also claims that Australia is currently experiencing the worst drought evaaahhh! I thought editors were supposed maintain consistency across media platforms?"
