My first Pfizer vaccination

All in all, I have no complaints or concerns. Maybe I should have tried to do this earlier but waiting my turn and waiting for my doctor's office to arrange this has paid off, at least from where I sit this afternoon.

Had the vaccination at 8:35 this morning. Had a poor night's sleep preceding the 8:00 drive to St Elizabeth, yet the entire process was smooth, fast and almost comfortable and certainly comforting.

No apparent side effects five hours later. Research suggests that the second shot, schedule for 18 March, is more likely to produce side effects. For the most part, swelling/pain/tenderness/soreness appears to be the primary side effect.

Before I left for the hospital, there was comforting news on the 94% effectiveness of the vaccine. Not sure what I would expect this number to be, but 94% has been somewhat of a talisman in my Covid research, e.g., 94% of Covid victims had pre-existing co-morbidities. In any case, while I had waffled a bit for the previous 24 hours, considering cancelling my appointment and waiting for the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine, but after checking out some Pfizer shot data, my impatience bested my caution and I decided to go ahead and take the shot today.

From here on, no news is good news. In a week or two I might look back over any mild symptoms and summarize them in a reflective post. For now, all good.
