January 2022: Continuing Covid insanity

January 10, 2022. Supreme Court Justice Sotomayor -- the self-proclaimed "wise Latina woman" -- grossly misstated if not purposely lied about Covid statistics among the young, claiming 100,000 hospitalizations when the factual case is 3,500. No accountability. And even if she was simply misinformed, that is unforgivable. No apology or statement from the Court.

Omicron cases rising, even among the fully vaccinated, but the CDC does not seem to recognize the real problem that they reported, i.e., 75% of "Covid" deaths were among people with four or more co-morbidities. The "old" claim used to be 94% were among people with two or more co-morbidities, so this 'new' figure is not surprising, and statistically consistent with the older statistic. And this is the preface to the shift to starting to describe deaths "with" Covid rather than "from" Covid.

Those with natural immunity are less of a threat to the community or to themselves than are those who are triple vexed and masked, especially if the latter group practices bad Covid hygiene. Or who persist in claiming their co-morbidities as rights. As I noted in a LinkedIn comment, we need to shame the obese before we shame the unvaccinated. And as others have noted, restrictions on the untaxed for their supposed threat to the 'rest of us' smacks of Germany's treatment of Jews in the 1930's.

The platform media continue to dismiss, cancel and otherwise silence the very people who know best, such as the inventor of the vaccine technology.

All the medical treatment in the world is probably not going to stop the death of someone determined to eat themselves to death, to do drugs, to smoke and drink. At best, spending medical dollars on people who create their own health problems is a misallocation of scarce resources. Even the public health fanatics in the NHS deny treatment to people who don't take care of themselves; no heart transplants for smokers or the obese. Worse, the NHS is infecting people with Covid once they arrive in the hospital while the press would like to suggest that the patients are bringing Covid into the hospital. Even PM Boris Johnson, the pro-vac mandated in chief, calls this pattern "unacceptable." Just don't wait for his to do anything about it. One member of his cabinet is trying to bring this to light: Contrary to the policies and plans of the tyrannical democracies, Covid is not going away. It is going to be with us a long time, perhaps forever. We need to learn to live with it.

As my March 2021 statistical analysis clearly proved, BMI is the best single precursor or predictor of a Covid-related death. Vince DiPietro, my long-term family physician, had to exactly correct. Healthcare is what you do for yourself; medical care is what someone else, e.g., doctor, nurse, does for you. I expressed these basics in an April 2020 post, summarized as this: Take care of your own health, with exercise, diet and a non-destructive lifestyle. According to the Australian government policy, the tennis athlete on the right is more of a threat than the morbidly obese, vaxxed man on the left.

Just about to head out for my fifth colonoscopy. The prep is unpleasant, a little painful and just a major irritation, but six hours from now it will all be "behind me." Had to hope for negative Covid test result from Friday test and I apparently have cleared that hurdle. Time to shower and take this on....

Update: Back from colonoscopy after four hours. Easy peasy. All good. No polyps. nice, pink colon.
