When Gaby chose to attend UCLA she put closure on my youthful image of college life in California. I have these memories of watching the UCLA - USC annual football game from our home in Eden, with snow outside and the fire crackling in our fireplace.

Another nice feature of her choice has been the ability to re-connect with my last Binghamton room mate from 1974-75, Showtime's Gary Levine.

When asked by a friend about what I liked about our first visit to the UCLA campus, before Gaby enrolled, I responded, "What's not to like?" The UCLA campus is about six miles -- maybe thirty minutes in traffic -- due east of the Santa Monica beaches, an easy run for our Bruin. It is one of my joys of life to follow Gaby's adventures in California and to fulfill my fifty-year old fantasy, if only vicariously.
